What happens when you pair the Virtuix Omni VR treadmill with Grand Theft Auto V? Pure madness of course. Simply put, players get to steal cars, shoot innocent bystanders in the face (like the shop owner in this video) and more in a whole new way. This was made possible with vorpX, a suite of 3D drivers for Oculus Rift enables you to play previously unsupported titles. For those wondering how it works, the player’s head movements are basically tracked in real-time by the Oculus Rift, as the character runs around via directions from the Virtuix Omni treadmill. So, in a somewhat creepy display of realism, you can watch as the player wanders into a 24/7 convenience store.
