Finally, Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S8, and it’s a doozy, starting with a new Infinity Display, which wraps around the sides. There’s no more physical home button, but now you can unlock the handset by just looking at it, thanks to iris scanning or the new face detect system. A fingerprint sensor is located on the back, next to its 12-megapixel f1.7 camera. The phone is both water and dirt resistant, powered by an octa-core processor, and has a new virtual assistant named Bixby. You’ll also get to choose from either a 5.8 or 6.2-inch (S8+) model in black, silver, or gray. Click here for a few hands-on images. The (mostly standard) Android software buttons remain, but without a physical home button, Samsung made a section of the bottom of the screen pressure-sensitive. Samsung calls this the ‘invisible home button,’ but the bottom line is the phone uses haptic feedback to simulate the feeling of pressing,” reports The Verge.
